Choosing your wedding flowers:
There are so many gorgeous flowers to choose from but it’s hard to tell what’s in season at the time of your wedding. Willow Green Flower Farm has come up with a seasonal guide to some of the flowers that might be available to help you.
Early spring
In March and April there are many more British Flowers in season than you might think;
Narcissi fragrant whites and creams or yellow and orange
Anemone stunning flowers in a myriad of colours from white and pastels to vivid reds purples and pinks
Tulips Forget those supermarket tulips! These massive parrots and doubles are more like peonies and can even be scented. They make fabulous wedding bouquets and centrepieces
Bluebells classic English wildflowers can be charming in a bouquet
Muscari White, pale blue or deep blue, these are gorgeous little flowers up close
Hyacinth Very fragrant in whites blues and pinks
Peruvian lily otherwise known as alstromeria is available all year round from Cornish growers in various colours
Alliums Early fragrant varieties from April
Snakes head fritillary An amazing checkerboard design, on the petals of this delicate English wildflower
Fruit tree blossom sprays of blossom, the essence of spring
Guelder rose Balls of green/white blossom
Cow parsley White frothy wildflowers in spring
Ranunculus Before English roses are available, these are an excellent alternative
Forget-me-nots Little spikes of sky blue and sometimes shades of pink and white. Lovely English wildflower
Solomon seal Arching stems of white bells and fresh green leaves
Moluccella Bells of Ireland fabulous architectural spikes of green
Others There are lots of other spring flowers and foliage available in smaller amounts at this time of year
Late Spring, early summer
Alchemilla Acid green frothy flowers
Alliums Purple, white, pink spheres
Alstromeria various colours all year round
Ammi Delicate parasols of white/green lace add country style
Anemone stunning flowers in a myriad of colours from white and pastels to vivid reds purples and pinks
Aquilegia Beautiful English garden classics in blue and pink shades
Astrantia Pincushion flowers in whites, pinks and reds. A cottage garden flower
Cornflower The wild form is a beautiful blue, also available in pinks, purples and red shades
Delphinium Large spikes of vivid blues, purples, whites and two-tone colours add impressive height
Feverfew The small white daisies of this herb bring a country wedding feel
Fennel Dozens of tiny acid green flowers arranged in a small dome
Foxglove A native wildflower, the tall spires come in white and apricot as well as pinks and purples

Jasmine Lovely foliage, strongly scented flowers from June
Foliage Acid green, dark green, silvery or blue-green. There are many colours of foliage available.
